These terms apply to anyone who submits a story or perspective through the Get Checked! 2026 story gathering form. Please read them before you begin.

About this campaign

Get Checked is a pan-European lung cancer awareness campaign run by Lung Cancer Europe with member organisations across Europe. The 2026 campaign focuses on primary care, exploring the experience of symptoms and early diagnosis from both the lived experience and primary care perspectives.

The campaign runs across social media channels, our website, and materials shared by Lung Cancer Europe member organisations across Europe.

What you are agreeing to

By submitting the form, you agree to:

• Lung Cancer Europe contacting you to find out more about your experience

• The possibility that your contribution may be used in campaign materials, including social media posts, our website, and materials shared by member organisations

• Your first name and country being used alongside your contribution, unless you have indicated a preference for anonymity

What we will always do first

Before any content featuring you is published, we will:

• Contact you to discuss how your contribution will be used

• Share the specific content with you for your approval

• Obtain your explicit consent for that specific use

Nothing will be published without your prior approval. You are in control throughout.

How your contribution may be used

Your contribution may appear in:

• Social media posts on Lung Cancer Europe's channels including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Bluesky accounts

• Content shared by Lung Cancer Europe member organisations in their own countries and languages

• The Lung Cancer Europe website and the Get Checked campaign website

• Future awareness materials related to Get Checked

We may edit contributions for length and clarity. We will always respect the meaning and intent of what you have shared.

Anonymity

If you have indicated a preference for anonymity, we will not use your full name, employer, or any details that could identify you. We will confirm the specific details with you before publication.

Withdrawal of consent

You can withdraw your consent at any time before content is published by contacting us at hello@getchecked.eu. Once content has been published, we may not be able to remove it from all platforms, but we will act on your request as promptly as possible.

Your data

We will store the information you provide securely and use it only for the purposes of this campaign. We will not share your personal data with third parties without your consent. We adhere to GDPR and applicable data protection law.
